Got to settings--- type the exchange email -- then select sync contacts and sync calendars. From there make sure you use Google contacts and Google calendars and set them to your default app. The standard contacts and calendars app that come with the phone have sync issues with the Outlook app. I currently set this for all my android users.

I have about 5 gmail accounts logged into my gmail app on a Samsung A51 phone (in case that info is relevant). Since last night my main gmail account isn't loading, it's stuck on "Getting your messages", despite uninstalling and reinstalling the app; changing passwords in case it is a security-related issue etc. No success up til now : (. Results are a nice clean list of all the Order Confirmation emails from the last month. In a 2022 world (or even 2002) there would be an option called "Select All" to swiftly select and delete this list in 2 gestures. Or, you could pick n choose which multiple msg to select and then " Delete Selected". Nope. A better option is to download the apk of an third party email client and add your gmail there. I ended up just going through the browser as Fajita_angina suggested. I don't know why I didn't think of that. Thanks for all of the good advice everyone. (well, except for Strongpillow).
